The Way to Treasure island - Churchtown Arts

This week we read a story about Matilda and her dad who went on a great adventure and found some treasure. The treasure was unexpected!

We have been writing about the story and trying to remember all the things which make our writing beautiful.

Halves - Teaching resources

Maths

This week we have been learning about halves and quarters. We have been finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts. We have used cubes and Base 10 to help us.

We continued to learn about our neighbours. We drew a picture of a good neighbour and wrote about how God loves our neighbour, just like we should.

Tough Kidder

We all had a great afternoon doing Tough Kidder. We all got stuck in and very wet! Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

PLEASE SEND A CARRIER BAG WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON IT NEXT MONDAY FOR EVERYTHING THAT THEY WILL BE BRINGING HOME.

DON'T FORGET SCHOOL CLOSES AT 1.30PM ON FRIDAY 22ND JULY.

Sumdog challenges

Phonics - tricky words 7

Maths - finding a quarter

Count on and back in 2s, 5s and 10s. Start on different numbers. Talk about whether the numbers are getting bigger or smaller.

Practise quickly recalling number facts, for example 6 is 0+6,1+5,2+4,3+3,4+2,5+1,0+6. practise for other numbers.

Please continue to access the training section of Sumdog, we have shown the class how to access it! The maths and spelling training sections will provide a tailored challenge for your child to practise skills, facts and words that they find difficult. Once your challenges have been completed, use this feature for challenge in both spelling and maths. To access the training feature click "task" and then the training will come up as an option.

Spend some time training so the program can learn the skills your child needs to work on and practise.
