Year 1 blog-Friday 15th July 2022
Date: 14th Jul 2022 @ 4:05pm
Welcome to your Friday blog!
English
This week we read a story about Matilda and her dad who went on a great adventure and found some treasure. The treasure was unexpected!
We have been writing about the story and trying to remember all the things which make our writing beautiful.
Maths
This week we have been learning about halves and quarters. We have been finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts. We have used cubes and Base 10 to help us.
R.E.
We continued to learn about our neighbours. We drew a picture of a good neighbour and wrote about how God loves our neighbour, just like we should.
P.S.H.E.
We talked about what these words mean and how we can help to look after our planet by doing them. We made posters about saving water, turning off electricity and using less packaging.

Art
We made a whole class collage ready to be displayed in Year 2!
Geography
Miss Fisher took half of the class on an observation walk around school. They then drew a bird's eye view map of the infant building and surrounding outdoor areas. The second half of the class will be completing their map next week!
