Maths - Repeating patterns

Counting - Count to 30 and time yourself. See if you can get quicker each time!

Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!

Please remember to bring book bags in each day.

English

We started to read our new story - Man on the Moon (a day in the life of Bob).

We wrote questions to Bob, made a list of jobs for him to do on the moon and then sequenced his day. We found that he had a very busy day cleaning the moon!

Phonics

Some of us have been learning the ar and or sounds.

Some of us have continued to learn the split digraph sounds, focusing on how u_e can make an oo and you sound.

Maths

We explored different patterns. First we learnt the pattern of fives and of twos, then we looked at repeated patterns with different shapes and objects. Some of us even made our own patterns up.

R.E.

We re-read the Annunciation story and talked about how God loves us so much, that He gave us His only son - Jesus. We listened to songs about Mary and wrote a short poem about God's love.

D.T.

We started to look at different mechanisms and how parts of books can move. We learnt the words 'slider' and 'lever'.

Science

We sorted animals into groups of fish, mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians.

Forest School

We listened to a story called Bear's Winter Home. We discussed the structure of the bear's house and how he used sticks first, then leaves on top. We had a great go at making our own homes for our woodland soft toys.

My Happy Mind

We learnt that when we practise skills, our brain remembers more and more each time. We drew pictures of a time that we found something tricky, but kept practising so that our brain could remember how to do it.
