English
We have been learning through the story of ‘Winnie the Witch’. We produced some amazing writing this week, focusing on Winnie’s thoughts and feelings. We acted in role as Winnie and wrote sentences explaining how Winnie was feeling and why.
Phonics
Some of us have been recapping the ai and ee sounds.
Some of us have been learning the ew sound (oo and you) and recapping the wh and ph sounds.
Maths
We continued to use part-whole models in our learning. This week, we focused on using them to complete subtraction number sentences within 10. We learnt that the largest number must be the whole and one part is taken away from it.
R.E.
We shared some Bible stories together and spoke about how wonderful God is.
Geography
We drew a map of our route to the library. Some of us had a go at labelling the places that we walked past.
Forest School
We stayed in the lodge this week as it was so rainy! We decorated sticks with pipe cleaners and string. This is very good for developing our fine motor skills and builds on the knot tying from last week.
Library
We had a fantastic trip to the library. We listened to stories about giants and made our own plate peaches.
We will be changing reading books on Thursday next week so please have your book bag in school!
