Our learning this week

English

Our story this week is another book from the series of The Large Family. We read the story ‘Mr Large In Charge'. The children have written sentences about the jobs the whole family do to help Mr Large.

Phonics

Sounds this week are: j, v, w, ay, ea, ou, ie

Maths

This week in Maths, the children have explored numbers up to 20.

The children have been learning about how many tens and ones in a number.

R.E.

The children have written a creation poem.

The children talked about all the wonderful things God created.

Science

We learnt about our body parts. We drew around each other and labelled each part together.

PE

In PE this week, the children have been learning kicking fundamental skills.

We learnt how to control the ball close to our body and kick at a target.

Forest School

We had a discussion about the seasons and how we are moving into Autumn.  We hunted for leaves in our log circle area. We found leaves of many shapes, sizes and colours. We stuck them onto paper and made a crown. We then played some games which showed fabulous imagination and creativity, 'I am the king of nature', I am Lady Leaf, were just some of the things we said! At the end of the session we played a game called Swap the Log.

Have a lovely weekend.
