Sumdog challenges

Maths - Heavier and lighter

Phonics - Sounds learnt this week.

Counting - We learnt a new counting game this week. See if you can play it at home!

Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!

Please remember to bring book bags in each day.

English

We have produced some amazing writing about our mums, ready for our Mother's Day assembly next week. We described our mums using similes, wrote prayers to God thanking Him for our mums and practised reading them aloud.

Phonics

Some of us have been comparing the different oa spellings: oa in goat, o in both and o_e in stone.

Some of us have been comparing the different igh spellings: ie in pie, i_e in slime, y in cry and i in wild.

Maths

We investigated the masses of different objects using the balance scales. We used the words 'heavier' and 'lighter'.

Then we sorted shapes into groups of circles, triangles, square rectangles and oblong rectangles.

R.E.

We role played two different stories this week: The widow's mite and The Last Supper. We talked about the words said in both Bible stories, then we acted out each scene in groups.

See our pictures here.

Science

We sorted clothing into each season. We had a great discussion about how spring and autumn clothing is very similar, but summer and winter clothes are easy to identify.

See our pictures here.

P.E.

We practised throwing and catching in larger groups. We worked as a team and threw the ball gently to each other.

Art

We sketched and painted roses on our Mother's Day cards. They look absolutely beautiful, we can't wait for you to see them!

We also used the watercolours to paint the background of an ocean scene.

Fairtrade

We watched a video about how bananas are made and transported to our country. We ordered the journey on iPads.

Silent Disco

We had so much fun in the silent disco! We danced to Bluey, Danny Go and Frozen!

See our pictures here.

Yoga

We loved our Friday morning yoga session. We learnt how to make affirmation poses.
