Maths - Recognising coins
Phonics - Sounds learnt this week.
Counting - Practise counting in tens from 0 to 100, forwards and backwards.
Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!
Please remember to bring book bags in each day.
English
We started to read our new book - Lumberjack's Beard. We described the setting of the story and explained how the bird was feeling using a speech bubble. The bird was very angry that the lumberjack chopped down his tree!
Phonics
Some of us have been focusing on trigraphs, focusing on air in chair and ear in clear.
Some of us have continued to explore the different oa spellings, focusing on ol in cold and oul in shoulder.
Maths
We continued our counting lesson from before half term, this time, focusing on counting in tens. We spotted the pattern on a number square and filled in missing numbers.
Then, we recapped the different coins and notes that we use.
R.E.
We started our new topic - To the ends of the Earth. We ordered Jesus' life events together from His birth to His death. We made a board game and played it in pairs.
Science
We took pictures of plants that are in our outdoor areas at the moment. In a few months, we will do the same again and make a comparison to see if anything has changed!
Geography
We started our new topic - hot and cold places in the world. We learnt about the equator and how the countries that are close to it have a hot climate. Then we identified hot and cold places on a world map.
Art
We started our new topic - birds. We sketched pictures of different birds in our sketchbooks, focusing on their different features.
