Sumdog challenges
Maths - Place value - tens and ones
Phonics - Sounds learnt this week.
Counting - Count in tens from different numbers e.g. 19, 29, 39, 49
Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!
Please remember to bring book bags in each day.
English
We read our next Traditional Tale - The Princess and the Pea. We have produced some amazing writing this week. We focused on using 'I' and past tense verbs to write our own diary, pretending to be the princess.
We then learnt how to edit our writing using purple pens, dictionaries and thesauruses!
Phonics
Some of us have been learning different ai spellings and different ee spellings.
Some of us have also been exploring the different ai spellings: ay in play, ey in grey, a_e in shape and eigh in neigh.
Maths
We have been adding and taking away ten from numbers. We had the discussion about how the ones number does not change, only tens.
We used base ten to make numbers, making sure that we check each time.
R.E.
We read the story of Jesus arriving in Jerusalem. We made welcome posters for Jesus.
History
We learnt all about Florence Nightingale and why she was so important. We learnt that she strived to make hospitals a safer place to be, by cleaning and providing medicine.
Science
The chicks were delivered to the classroom on Monday! We were so excited to see them hatch out of their shells. On Thursday, we were able to hold them!
P.E.
We recapped how to throw a beanbag underarm, focusing on our aim and power. We tried throwing to a partner and into a hoop.
Please remember to have trainers in your PE kit. We are outside this half term!
World Book Day
We had a lot of fun going on an orienteering scavenger hunt outside to find questions about different books. We worked brilliantly together!
