Year 1 Home Learning Wednesday 3rd March 2021
Date: 1st Mar 2021 @ 2:29pm
Happy Wednesday everyone. Here is today's learning.
We are seeing some excellent learning on Seesaw - beautiful handwriting, accurate number work and thoughtful R.E.
Reading
We have seen some lovely videos of you doing your reading challenges wearing hats, using silly voices and even reading to your pets! Print off your certificate when you have ticked all the stars!
You could have a go at making your own book to read to someone in your family.
Phonics
Today we will be looking at two more 'air' sounds. The are in stare and the ere in where. Watch the video again below, writing out all the words with these sounds in. Tune in to Seesaw for your sounds learning.
English
In our writing today, we are looking at what happened when Scaredy discovered all the creatures around the Nut Tree. Tune into Seesaw and download the sheet attached. Keep sending in your brilliant writing to Seesaw.
We are very impressed with all the progress you have made at home over the last few weeks.
A huge Well Done!
'Scaredy Squirrel would like to say a big Thank You to Year 1 for all their fantastic tips for falling asleep. They worked a treat!'
Handwriting
Tune in to Seesaw for your Handwriting practise today. You will need a pencil and some lined paper.

French
Here’s our favourite fruit song to remind us of the fruit words. Click here.
Now listen to this for another practise: Click here.
Now practise recalling the words with a game of fruit bingo. You need someone to play with.
Using the last video, draw those fruits on separate bits of paper and turn them face down on the table.
Now you need a grid each with 4 squares on. Choose 4 fruits that you know the names of and draw them on your grid, recognisably! (A circle could be anything!). Take it in turns to turn over a fruit and say the word in French. Cross it off if you’ve got it on your Bingo card. The first person to cross off all their fruit is the winner. They shout Lotto!
Don’t forget to ask for your fruit in French at home. Une pomme s’il te plait! (oon pomm seel tuh play) Merci! (mair see)
Merci beaucoup. A la semaine prochaine! See you next week!
