Year 1 Home Practice Friday 11th June 2021
Date: 11th Jun 2021 @ 12:32pm
Welcome to your Friday blog. Everyone came in on Monday full of smiles to start the final half term of learning in Year 1.
We started a new story, The Enormous Crocodile. We have read the first part of the story and will be continuing it next week. We have retold the story so far as a class by recording our voices. We have also written a letter to the crocodile asking him not to eat children! We have also been painting pictures from the story and we made our own enormous crocodile with a moving jaw.
In Maths we have been finding halves of shapes and amounts. We have used counters and other equipment to support our understanding.
In P.E. we had a go at some of the races we will be taking part in at our Sports Day on Tuesday 22nd June. We had great fun!
In R.E. we had another story about Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. We talked about making the right choices.
Please keep reading every night.
We have seen huge progress in all your reading. This is down to all your regular home reading throughout the year.
We have set a couple of challenges on Sumdog. Continue to have a go at these. We have seen a drop in participation lately with the good weather but 10 minutes a night will make a huge difference to maths and spelling fluency.
Maths - x2 and Halving Challenges
Spelling - 2 syllable words
Have a great weekend in the sun!
The Year 1 Team.
