Year 1 Friday May 28th
Date: 25th May 2021 @ 12:53pm
Welcome to your last blog of this half term!
We had some new arrivals outside our classroom this week. A nest of chicks has been tweeting and listening to all our fantastic learning. So exciting!
We finished off our Lighthouse Keeper stories and read them to the Year 2 children. They were really impressed and listened very well.
Our new story this week was called Flotsam. It is an unusual book as it only has pictures so we had to look carefully to tell the story ourselves. We have been tryng really hard to form our letters correctly and to spell even more Tricky Words.
In Maths we have been learning how to Multiply numbers and looked at how counting groups can help us. We have been counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Well done to Alfie G for his Sumdog award this week!
In R.E. we listened to the story of Levi, the tax collector and talked about the choices he made.
Our P.E. skills are really improving and we enjoyed our outdoor lesson. We practised running in different directions with our honeybee game.
We used our map reading skills in our Orienteering learning. We found clues to make spell out the name of our school and nobody got lost! Great team-work!
Our Daily Mile Award goes to Eddie this week. Great effort.
We have all drawn our pictures for the PTFA tea towel. We can't wait to see the finish product!
Everyone looked brilliant today dressed up as teachers! Some very inventive costumes!
Have a brilliant time next week whatever you are up to...hopefully the weather will be kind! We look forward to seeing you all on Monday 7th June.
