English
This week we started learning through a book called Rosie Revere Engineer. Rosie makes all sorts of gadgets and gizmos from things which she finds. She really perseveres and inspires her friends.
We wrote some predictions about the story from looking at the front cover. We answered questions about the story and we learnt how to use part of the question in our answer.
SPaG
We learnt how to use the suffix ful, care becomes careful, harm becomes harmful. We also discussed grateful and beautiful.
Maths
We finished our learning about measuring mass and capacity. We completed assessments about our recent learning.
We also learnt how to use a ruler to measure lengths and we played a game where we had to estimate and then measure lengths
Forest School
We worked in our nature area. Some of us used drainpipes and worked together to investigate how water travels through them. We showed excellent problem solving skills.
Science
We learnt about the life cycles of hens and frogs.
We observed our seeds again and recorded their progress in our diaries.
P.E.
We practised our ball skills through playing some old fashioned games. We were throwing, rolling, aiming and also counting up our scores. We were all great team members.
Silent Disco
This was brilliant fun! We all wore the headphones and danced away. The hall was transformed into a real disco-it was dark with flashing lights.
Yoga and Mindfulness Festival
We had a great session with our South Ribble coach. We learnt some yoga poses.
Fairtrade
We learnt about the journey of a banana from where it is grown to our supermarket shelf. We role played the journey with real Fairtrade bananas and used atlases to find places in the world where Fairtrade products come from.
R.E
The children learnt more about Holy Week by exploring religious art. They chose their favourite painting and explained why they liked it.
