English
We started learning through our new book, The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield.
The bear's beautiful music takes him to amazing and wonderful places in his imagination.
We wrote a description of a place in our imagination using great adjectives.
We also planned our own story which we will be writing next week.
Phonics
We have been revisiting the long i sound, i-e as in shine, igh as in night and i as in lion.
SPaG
The children found out about the four types of sentences - statements, commands, questions and exclamations.
Maths
We learned about arrays. We know that 4x3 is the same as 3x4.
Forest School
This week we went into our nature area. We built shelters. There was lots of resilience and problem solving happening.
Science
We learnt about our bodies. We learnt what things animals and humans need to stay alive.
PSHE
We discussed what is the same and what is different about us. We learnt what the word UNIQUE means.
History/Art
We learnt more about the story of the Gunpowder Plot and
created beautiful Bonfire Night pictures, using coloured tissue paper and crayons.
RE
We read Isaiah (9:1-2) and thought about light and darkness in relation to Jesus and his different titles. The children responded creatively decorationg their own lightbulbs.
My Happy Mind
We had our first lesson in which we learnt about how our brain works and how we can help it work at it's very best. We all have a journal which we use to record our thoughts and feelings.
