Year 3 11th March 2022
Date: 11th Mar 2022 @ 4:00pm
We have had a fantastic week of learning this week!
On Tuesday we visited Fr Michael for Mass, the first class mass for over two years. The children were very respectful and listened to all the readings and prayers.
We also have had some chicks in year 3 this week for our Science Week on Growth. The eggs arrived on Monday and each day we've watched them hatch and observed how they have changed as they have grown. The children have been very excited and interested in our new arrivals. See our gallery below.
In our Engligh learning this week we have started our new novel, Journey to Jo'burg by Beverly Naidoo. To provide the children with some context for the story, we researched Nelson Mandela and South Africa during apartheid. The children wrote some fantastic biographies and asked some very thoughtful questions. We are already enjoying the story!
In maths we have been learning to multiply by 10 using a number of strategies. The children have grasped these quickly and are applying their learning to solve problems.
In our geography learning this week we have been using digital maps to help identify the cities in the UK. The children enjoyed exploring our country and finding out the names of some new cities.
