Home Practice

Continue with your daily reading. The children are really enjoying picking their own books and changing them lots. 10 minutes every night will make all the difference.

On Sumdog this week we have set a fluency competition and and addition and subtraction maths challenge to practise all our number learning for next week. A little practice with these every day will help your children become fluent in their number facts.

Continue to practise your counting. This week, try counting forwards and back in 4s.

Your home spellings this week all end with a /shun/ sound, spelled in different ways. We will test the children on these on Friday.

invention, injection, action, hesitation, completion, expression, discussion, confession, permission, admission, expansion, extension, comprehension, tension

This week in Year 3

We have had a brilliant week in Year 3 this week.

In RE we learned how we can live the Eucharist by living Jesus' message and being kind and loving. We created our own newsletters for the parish and looked at our live simply Parish newletter from St Oswald's church.

In English we have been reading the Traditional Spanish Tale of Ferdinand the Bull. We planned, drafted and wrote our own versions and read them to Year 2 and Year 5. We have sent these home for you to enjoy!

Our fractions learning this week has been brilliant. Everyone has shown great understanding of the addition and subtraction of fractions. Well done Year 3!

In Science this week we conducted our experiment on friction and ramps. Check out our gallery!
