Year 3 Home Practice 18th September 2020
Date: 17th Sep 2020 @ 4:03pm
Happy Friday.
We have had a fantastic week in Year 3. We started reading the Twits this week and showed our cheeky side by coming up with our own prank ideas. We enjoyed some outdoor learning in the sunshine and loved painting Mr Twit’s beard. We have been trying really hard with our times tables and have been doing lots and lots of counting. We have been focussing on listening and following instructions so that we are always ready to learn J
Year 3 Home Practice
Year 3 home practice will be uploaded onto the school website every Friday. You will be tested every Thursday on the spellings and times tables.
The purpose of home learning is to practise the essential skills needed in reading, writing and maths.
Home Practice for 18th September – 25th September
- Read to somebody at home every night for 20 minutes. Reading with an adult and discussing your reading will help you to become fluent, expressive and independent.
- Practise the x2 tables – ask somebody at home to call out 10 questions each night in order and 10 questions each night mixed up. Hopefully by the end of the week you will be quick and won’t have to count on.
- Go on Sumdog and complete the following challenges:
Number Challenge - 18th September- 25th September – target 50 questions.
Grammar Challenge: 18th September- 25th September – target 50 questions.
Spelling Challenge: 18th September- 25th September – target 50 questions.
- Spellings:
badge, edge, bridge, dodge, fudge, ridge, smudge, judge, wedge, lodge
Write out the spellings and stick them up somewhere you will see them every day. Practise splitting them up into chunks you can remember and writing them out in different colours each night e.g. badge, edge
Have a lovely weekend
