Please read for 20 minutes each evening to an adult at home.  If you find any words you are unsure of, look them up in a dictionary or ask an adult for the meaning.

Times tables and Number facts

Please practise your individual tables target for your test next week.

You can practise your tables on TTRockstars, Hit the Button and timestables.co.uk

Please also practise your number facts.

You can practise your number facts on Hit the Button

It is crucial that you learn all of your table facts and your number facts as this will help you with many aspects of maths.

Sumdog challenges

  • A spelling challenge based on the words above
  • A maths challenge to practise column addition and subtraction

TTRockstars challenge

  • A ‘studio’’ session

In English, we read some more of our class novel. We were left on a cliff hanger and are eager to find out who the ‘man’ is with the coat of long, red hair!

In Maths, we consolidated the written method of addition and subtraction. We reminded ourselves that all the digits need to be carefully lined up in columns and that we needed to start with the units column.

In RE, we read the words of St Paul to the Colossians Chapter 3: 12-15. We then chose our favourite sentence from the reading and explained how it helps us to build bridges.

In History, we learnt about the Battle of Marathon. We then wrote a letter from the Athenians asking the Spartans for help fighting the Persians. Our letters were fantastic and included lots of historical facts. We were very proud of them!

In Science, we experimented with the string telephones we had made. We tested different phones to see if the length and tautness of the string made any difference to the clarity of what we heard. We also investigated whether we could hear around corners!

This week we had another Yoga session with Katie. We practise our balances and our ‘sun salutation’. We also took part in Dance from the Heart during which we were treated to a brilliant display by the amazing Street Monkeys. Have a look at the pictures in our gallery. In addition, we had a ‘super’ day on Thursday during Super Learning Day. Throughout the day, we took part in lots of different activities and learnt lots of new skills. What a fabulous week!
