Year 5 will have PE on a Friday for this Half Term. Children will need spare shoes and socks for cross country. 

Please start to collect materials for our art project this half term, we will be making a model set for the chocolate room in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You might want to start collecting:

Fabric

Cardboard

Plastic

Chocolate and sweet wrappers

Cocktail sticks or lollipop sticks

We have been learning different methods to multiply and divide. 

Partition to multiply:

64 x 4 

60 x 4 = 240

4 x 4 = 16

64 x 4 = 256

 

Known facts:

1,200 ÷ 4 

12 ÷ 4 = 3

120 ÷ 4 = 30

English

We started our new class novel Street Child by Berlie Doherty.

We have been carrying out research about the Victorian times to help us understand the novel.

RE

We started our new topic all about our mission and life choices. We started by learning about inspirational people. We watched this video all about Thomas Barnardo and spoke about what made him inspirational.

We continued with our learning about Anglo-Saxons. We learnt that Britain used to be split into seven kingdoms each with its own king and government. We located these kingdoms on a map.
