Year 5 Blog Friday 16th December

Happy Friday, Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

We had a wonderful week in school. 

We finished Room 13 and loved it. We then wrote a persuasive piece of writing to go in a holiday brochure trying to persuade people to go and stay at the Crow's Next Hotel. This wasn't easy as we know all of the secrets about the Crow's Nest. We used different types of sentences and vocabulary. We even read some of our adverts to Mrs Mulgrew and she said she would definitely go to the hotel. 

We can't wait to start our new class novel in January, it is called Street Child. 

We loved seeing some children from All Hallow's on Monday, they treated us to a musical showcase including some Christmas songs we could join in with. 

On Thursday we enjoyed the Christingle in church, we were very impressed with how well the Year 6 children read. It was also a special golden assembly for Mrs Sullivan on Thursday. We celebrated her time teaching at St Oswald's with songs, memories, cards, gifts and a video. 

Now it is time to relax, spend time with friends and family and have lots of fun.
