Read out loud every day for 20 minutes. Look at how speech is punctuated.

Here are your spellings this week. Some of them are homophones, this mean they sound the same but have different meanings. You need to know how to spell these words as well as their meaning.

Count out loud in:

Times Tables

Practise your tables target every day.

Make sure you know the square numbers up to 144 and the square root.

Everybody has brought home a letter about an Australian themed celebration we will be having in Year 5 on Thursday 21st December.

Start thinking about what you want to wear for the celebration. 

Maths

We have been learning about multiples and divisibility. 

A multiple is a number made by multiplying two whole numbers greater than one. 

English

We have been reading The Highwayman poem. 

We have been learning about famous highwaymen and finding the meaning of new words by exploring their context in the sentence. 

RE

We have been learning about Advent. We talked about how Christians are waiting in hope during Advent for the coming of Jesus, and how we can use the period of Advent to do good deeds and remember Jesus. 

All Hallows PE day

The children were fantastic taking part in various sports including football, dance, netball, handball, basketball, etc.
