Year 5 Blog Friday 7th October

Happy Friday everybody
This week has been the best week yet in Year 5. Everybody has been so kind and we earned all of our golden tokens, we also got our first special token which will go towards an extra special golden time. Mrs Wood visited our classroom on Friday, she said that she has noticed how much everybody has grown up since the start of the year and she said that Year 5 is a happy and lovely place to be.
We had a special visitor on Thursday afternoon. Mrs Stone came to visit with her new baby girl Tilly. We loved asking questions to Mrs Stone and she loved how calm and quiet we were. Click here to see some photos.
We celebrated World Smile Day on Friday. We spent the day smiling (even more than we usually do) and thought about things we can do to make other people smile.
We also attended Mass at church on Friday morning. We were calm, quiet and still and listened really carefully to Father Michael.
In French, we practised reading words with the vowel sounds in then we learnt question words - Qui? Quand? Comment? etc and how to pronounce them correctly. We also chose the first pair of Language Leaders who will be helping everyone to answer questions in French about themselves.
This week, the football league began with pupils from Year 5 and 6 competing against schools from the local area. Both teams represented the school brilliantly, with superb hat-tricks from Finley and Morgan. Everyone worked really well as a team – we are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in the next two weeks.
