Reading
Please keep reading over the Easter holidays and remember to bring your favourite book in to school when we come back so we can share it with the class.
English
We have nearly completed ‘Varjak Paw’. We have been writing about the mysterious cat vanishings this week. Hopefully the mystery will be solved in the week we come back to school!
Maths
The term has ended with the children developing their skills in drawing, reflecting and translating shapes. Well done Year 5!
Science
This week the children have been learning about the life cycle of a plant and how they reproduce. A couple of the sunflower seeds we have planted have already germinated!
RE
Finally, we have spent the week giving a lot of thought to Jesus’ last days on earth before his crucifixion. The children turned into art critics as they examined and formed their own opinions on famous paintings depicting the sorrowful mysteries, such as when Jesus was crowned with thorns. They also debated what was meaningful to Christians about Jesus’ resurrection.
Once again, Year 5 have been amazing this half term - thank you to all of you!
We will see you back in school on Tuesday 22nd April 2025
