Year 6 Blog - 15th November
Date: 14th Nov 2024 @ 12:06pm
Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog!
This week in Year 6
English
In English we have been learning all about WW1 poetry. We have thought about what life was like for soldiers in the trenches and shared 'Dulce et Decorum Est' by Wilfred Owen. We have been inspired by Wilfred Owen to create our own WW1 poetry.
Maths
This week, we have learned how to find common multiples of a number and apply this to converting fractions so that they have the same denominator. We have also learned about what a factor of a number is and how to find the common factors of two numbers, so that we can simplify fractions.
RE
In RE, we have shared the Magnificat together. We created some beautiful artwork inspired by Mary's message that God's love can turn the world upside down!
Topic
In My Happy Mind, we have continued to learn all about our brains. We have learned how to look after our brains and chosen personal targets that we will use to look after our brains this week! You will have received a letter today with the newsletter showing you how to access the parent resources.
In Geography, we learned all about the Sherpa people and why the Himalayas are important to them. We researched facts and created some brilliant fact files.
In Art, we have shown resilience and turned our 2D drawings of dogs into 3D sculptures!
