St Paul's C of E Primary School, Stalybridge: Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog!

This week we spoke to the children about using technology and the internet safely. We discussed how to use internet devices safely in school and at home and signed our revised safer use agreement which you can find below. The children signed this to say they read and understood the content.

English

French couple find WWI letters to English soldier hidden under their floorboards for 100 years | UK News | Sky News

In English we have been continuing our learning all about the letters that soldiers used to send home in WW1. We have written a letter in role to our brother, who we wanted to share the reality of the trenches with.

In RE, we have thought about how Mary is an important lady for Christians. We have also thought about the significant women in our own lives and written letters to them to thank them for their guidance and support.

Topic

In My Happy Mind, we have continued to learn all about our brains. We have learned more about how to develop healthy habits, look after our minds and be our very best selves!

In Science, we learned how we need light to see. We created some amazing information texts about how light reflects from objects into our eyes and all about how our eyes work too!

In Computing, we continued our work on Tinkercad and learned how to create a name badge by combining and rotating 3D objects in the workspace.
