Year 2- Forest School-Summer Solstice

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Year 2 Year: 2023 - 2024

We learnt about the summer solstice.During the summer solstice, the earth's axis is tilted at its closest point from the sun. This means that in the northern hemisphere, the sun is at its highest point in the sky. It's also the longest day of the year - and the shortest night. This day falls on Saturday 22nd June. We made forest eyes using yarns, beads and wool in sunny colours.
