Year 4 - Electricity

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 4 Year: 2024 - 2025

This week in Science, we finished our Electricity topic by making our own switches. We created two types of switches: selector and push. The selector switch was made with a piece of cardboard, two push pins and a paper clip. When the paper clip was connected to both push pins, the electricity could flow through the circuit. The push switch was made with a piece of card and some tin foil. When the push button was pressed down and touched the tin foil (with the crocodile clip attached), the electricity could flow through. We added each of the switches to a simple circuit to test whether different components would work.
