Year 4 - Reconciliation Day

Class: Year 4 Year: 2024 - 2025

This Monday was our Reconciliation Day. We spent the morning in class together with Mrs Wilson and Father Michael taking part in various activities when it may be appropriate to say sorry. We discussed when and why we say sorry, and how it makes us feel. We agreed that it can sometimes be difficult to say sorry for something we have done wrong, or forgotten to do something we had promised.

In our groups, we discussed various situations that needed an apology and used drama to show this. We also sorted and identified positive and negative feelings in given scenarios, as well as answering "I usually... but I could..." to different situations. This helped us then fill in a prompt sheet to refelect on some things we wanted to say sorry for with Father Michael in the afternoon.

After listening to the story of the The Prodigal Son and a practise of the 'Sorry Prayer', we headed over to church in the afternoon to take part in six stations to do with saying sorry and forgiveness. We enjoyed these in our groups and discussed some really important matters before completing our first Reconciliation service with Father Michael and Father John.
