Year 4 - Science - Melting chocolate

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 4 Year: 2024 - 2025

Today we continued with our planned investigation to find out which type of chocolate melts the fastest. Each group had a tub of hot water, and a tin foil tray of different types of chocolate. There was a piece of dark, white and milk chocolate. Once each group had their investigation set up, at the same time we carefully placed the tin foil try over the hot water and recorded the time it took for each piece of chocolate to melt. We found out that dark chocolate melted the fastest, next white chocolate and then milk chocolate. We had to explain our reasons why that might be and discuss how our investigation was / was not fair. We also suggested how we could improve this next time.
